Life without social media

Long before mobile phones existed we lived. It wasn’t as easy it is now to communicate in as fast as it is with the help of technology. We used to bond without having to be on our pc and smartphone screens.

If by any mistake you forget your mobile phone behind your life for the rest of the day is miserable. You’re on ice age. However, not knowing the value of a thing, person and even the fresh air we breathe we are subject to abuse it.

It’s been almost six months ever since I diactivated my social media accounts except WhatsApp. I have certainly conquered FOMO(fear of missing out). When social media creators they had no idea as how misserable our lives could be when we abuse it. If you don’t use something for what it was designed for you abuse it, period.

The goal of every social media creators is to make you addictive to it for their benefit off course.

I sleep on time without having to check how many likes have I collected on my posts. I don’t get to be offended by the less number of followers and those who engage to my topics anymore. I don’t really have to worry about how other people making it in life compared to by idle life. It is like running my own race without having to prove any point by many likes I get.

Life without social media is still life of liberty from your own self. You’re only competing on your own progress comparing it to yesterday’s performance. Yes, other people’s success makes us do something about our own lives to. It is a good peer pressure only of you have own life design.

You don’t really need social media to live a better life. I understand nowadays we get recruited, promoted and well known by means of our interactions on social media. But it’s not a golden rule of life.

WhatsApp is updating it’s policies soon that will kinda window dress our data. It is because Facebook now owns that app. I’ve noticed too that so many people are joining Telegram. Are we now relocating/switching over? Certainly soon if we don’t join Signal, Telegram is going to be soon my hometown.

We don’t have to be consumed by social media. Creators of social media will make sure you’re glued to it day in day out. Be on guard of your own life. Use it for it’s purpose if you can’t live without.
